Courtallam Private Falls

Courtallam Waterfalls

Known as the Spa of South India, Kutralam (also called ‘Courtallam’) has numerous waterfalls. The waterfalls of Courtallam have medicinal value as they run through forest and herbs before their descent. This waterfall zone is the source for perennial rivers like Chittar River, Manimutharu, Pachaiyar and Tamirabarani. 

The major waterfalls where tourists are allowed to take a dip are Main falls, Five Falls, and Old Falls.

Private Waterfalls - Courtallam

Located inside private estates, these private waterfalls offer a safe and exclusive retreat. The 4x4 jeep ride of approx. 3 km in a rocky mud path to reach the falls is an experience by itself. Families can have exclusive time here as it is very safe. No food or water is available, so it is best to carry.

Kutralanathar Temple

Thirukutralam represents one of the five Pancha Sabhas of Nataraja - Chitra Sabhai. The five dance halls of Shiva are ChidambaramMaduraiThiruvalangaduTirunelveli and 

Kutralam.

Tenkasi Temple

Built in 13th century by Pandya ruler, the Tenkasi Viswanathar Temple is the South Indian manifestation of Lord Shiva as Kasi Viswanathar of Kasi in UP. Read more at:
