Sivasailam Temple

Gadana Dam

Gadana Nathi Reservoir, also spelt as Kadana Nathi Dam is located at the foot of the western Ghats in Sivasailam village near Alwarkurichi. It is known for it's serene scenic beauty and if you are lucky, you can spot some fauna. Great place to spend for solitude and peace. A trek (permission required) to Gorakhnathar (one of the Siddhas) temple starts from here.

Sivasailam Temple

Located in the Western Ghats and surrounded by Siver Hill, Sivasailam Temple is a beautiful temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. The Shivalinga is believed to appear from a rock on the hill after it was flooded with milk by several cows. A dip in the Gatana river that flows behind the temple is considered holy.

Alwar Kovil & Vanniyappar Kovil

Azhwar(Alwar) Kovil is the place of stay of Kulasekhara Azhwar, one of the Azhwars of Lord Vishnu. The village Azhwarkurichi is named after him.

Vanniyappar Temple is over 1000 years old and has its uniqueness in the Navagrahas that are in a different setup in the form of a Yantra in front of the Lord's shrine.

Tenkasi Temple

Built in 13th century by Pandya ruler, the Tenkasi Viswanathar Temple is the South Indian manifestation of Lord Shiva as Kasi Viswanathar of Kasi in UP. Read more at:
